
About IAAF
The annual Interagency Accessibility Forum (IAAF) provides a venue for federal accessibility professionals, buyers, developers, designers, project managers, leadership and many others to exchange best practices in managing and implementing digital accessibility standards and reporting required by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 U.S.C. §§ 794d and 794d-1).
2026 IAAF
The 2026 Interagency Accessibility Forum (IAAF) is being built on the theme Future-Ready Accessibility: Preparing Government for What’s Next, and will be held on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22, 2026. The event will be a hybrid event, offering limited in-person attendance at the GSA Headquarters building, along with virtual attendance for those unable to join us in-person. IAAF is hosted by the Government-wide IT Accessibility Program within the Office of Government-wide Policy (OGP) at the General Services Administration (GSA), and co-sponsored by the U.S. Access Board (USAB) in collaboration with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and other federal agencies.

This year’s IAAF will be held on May 21–22, 2026, and featured a mix of presentations, workshops, and discussions led by accessibility experts from government, private industry, academia, and other sectors.
Presenters and panelists covered a wide range of Section 508-related subjects, including agency compliance updates, project management strategies for accessibility assessments, procurement of accessible technology, regulatory differences, tools like ART and SRT, and broader efforts to promote digital access to government information.

How to Register
The 2026 IAAF is a hybrid event with two ways you can attend: virtually or in-person in the U.S. General Services Administration building.
- Review session details before registering.
- Review the registration options carefully, then sign up for the sessions you plan to attend.
- You may combine virtual attendance on one day with in-person attendance on another, but you must register for both separately.
- NOTICE: Members of the press must self-identify during the registration process and are required to notify the Office of Strategic Communication at press@gsa.gov.

Attending the 2026 IAAF virtually gives you access to all open sessions on Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22. Simply register to join online for one or both days. After completing your registration, a unique link to access the virtual event will be emailed directly to you.

Join us in person for the 2026 IAAF at the GSA Headquarters Building for engaging sessions on federal digital accessibility; please note that registration does not guarantee entry, as seating is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and while you are welcome to attend both days, you must register for each day separately.

Section 508 Program Managers Networking Forum—Invitation Only.
Section 508 Program Manager are invited to join us in person after the 2026 IAAF for an exclusive Networking Session at the GSA Headquarters Building. This session is reserved for registered Federal Section 508 Program Managers and offers a focused opportunity to connect with peers and discuss shared challenges and strategies. Registration is capacity-limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
Friday, May 22 - 1:00pm - 3:00 pm.—Federal Section 508 Program Managers will receive a registration link via an email invitation. Capacity limit 68.
Additional Information
Federal employees or contractors with an HSPD-12 PIV card enrolled in the access system
- Present your HSPD-12 PIV card at the turnstile or courtyard entrance to gain access.
Visitor procedures
- Enter the building at E Street or F Street entrance.
- Be prepared to show your REAL-ID compliant government-issued ID.
- Approach the screening area and follow the instructions of the protective security officer present.
- Proceed with security procedures, the magnetometer screening, and collect all belongings.
- Visitors will be given a visitor's badge to wear at all times while at the building.
- Visitors are required to be escorted.
Travel to 1800 F St NW, Washington, D.C. (General Services Administration Headquarters Building) is recommended via Metro, with Foggy Bottom–GWU and Farragut West as the nearest stations. The site is also accessible by walking, WMATA transit, or ride-share. Parking is limited and typically costs approximately $14–$25 or more in nearby garages.
Key Transportation Options:
- Metro: The most efficient option is WMATA rail service. Use the WMATA trip planner to reach Foggy Bottom–GWU or Farragut West stations (Blue, Orange, and Silver lines).
- Parking: Street parking is limited. Several local public parking garages are available, with the closest options located at 660 18th St. NW, and 521 19th St. NW.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and Real Time Captioning (CART) will be available in all sessions. Electronic documents will be available for download from the agenda prior to the day of the session.

Since 2013, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) along with federal agency partners has hosted the annual Interagency Accessibility Forum (IAAF) for agency representatives to learn about federal accessibility policies and how they can adapt Section 508 standards to prioritize IT accessibility.
Over the years, conference attendees have heard from a range of presenters, panelists, and keynote speakers across a variety of topics, perspectives, and experiences. Notable speakers include former and active members of Congress, commission chairs and other senior leaders within government and the accessibility community.
